Solution Rationale

  • Young adults tend to have issues with confrontation, especially within the roommates scene. Equal

  • Collaborative platform with shared and transparent interface between all home members. The interface is designed to be both personalized to each individual user as well as transparent about all other member's activity in order to keep the user informed

  • The aesthetic, color scheme and style was kept simple and friendly utilizing rounded edges, clear shapes and vibrant tones. While the concept and idea behind chores, deadlines and confrontation can be stressful, the interface should aim to calm and ease a user through visual elements

  • The app currently only functions as a chore rotation and reminder application, limiting from other tasks and responsibility tracking. Trading off functionality variation allowed for a more clear and focused introduction for such a niche use-case

  • Indication colors as well as icons are pushed and encouraged in this application for quick use and recall allowing users to get through the routine fast every chore deadline.

Usability Test Findings

Conducted quick and low-fidelity usability tests to observing and interviewing users after having them complete a step by step list of instructions to experience the application through interactive prototype. through these tests I was able to very quickly see what was working and what was not. I found that users needed interface to cater to multiple scenarios and situations that might occur in real life. The prototype needs more interface and examples in order for testers to fully conclude if the application is effective and valuable.

  • Conduct usability tests and improve the usability and experience of the prototype

  • Design further screens to expand and visually depict the apps full potential and function

  • Research design cues and language to build the most effective interface for RUMHUB's specific problem and primary audience

  • Repeat!
